Message: a marketing ploy

Could Apple be using the limitations of the new watch as a "wait until you see the follup up version" as a marketing ploy? I believe most people that know about the battery limitations will buy version 1 just because it is the first and with money being no object to them. The readiness of POET and release of version 2 watch may introduce POET to the world as an Apple partner.
