Investing, to me, is like a spiritual journey. Once you are on the path you will find that you are challenged with many distractions. The purpose of the spiritual journey is, of course, to reach a perceived destination, enlightenment or whatever is your purpose. However, many will realize that it is the experience on the path, learning to ignore the distractions, the journey itself that is the real lesson.
When I commit to a stock in an 'all in' fashion, such as this, I remind myself that I am on such a path. I focus on the destination, yet ever reminded that a gauntlet of distractions lay ahead.
Doubt weighs heavily on the traveller. There are those, the dark ones, who would whisper sweet desires into your ear. They try to tempt you with easy paths that lead away from your oh so troubling journey. As time goes on you may grow weary and the promise of rest, realization and an end to your suffering become too hard to ignore.
It is at times like these that I remind myself why I set forth on this journey to begin with. My faith, my belief in the destination and the fundamentals that led me to take my first step - these are the things that keep me focused. If I didn't truly believe, I wouldn't have started the journey at all.
I am here, for the long haul. I am here because I believe in POET. I am here because days like this I see only as opportunities, learning or buying, either one makes me stronger. Today is a great day; today I will take advantage of a depressed share price and further enhance my position. Tomorrow I will be stronger for it.
