Overnight Success - Dreaming

Every day travelling to work I am forced to stop at a cross-roads; where on the opposite corner a bill board advertisement for a banking firm confronts me with the statement, “It’s amazing how many nights it takes to become an overnight success”.
The advert is for HSBC bank and follows with “we understand how long it can take to build a successful business”.It is targeted at entrepreneurs and new businesses, but as a POET share holder I always feel it was written specifically for me.
I have lost count of the number of nights I have woken early or lain awake dreaming of the potential of POET and the possible new opportunities its success can offer me and my family.
For what seems an eternity POET has been on the cusp of the next big leg up.Personally I had the end of 2014 as a line in the sand, then Q1 and now it has shifted to end of June and may shift again if required.
I am not naïve enough to think it will all come in one big hit but a series of increments, CEO and milestones to get us to the NASDAQ.Once there, partners, licences and foundry 2 type collaborations and ultimately royalties, ever growing with an expanding diversification of products that will reap dividends sufficient to consider the possibility of a new job (one you really wanted to do) or no job at all if you’re that way inclined.
So whilst I recognise the long term nature of both POETs growth and my desired outcomes, I still on a daily basis cannot stop my heart beat rising around 14.30 (GMT) when I check to see what if any news is released.
The patience is agonizing, but I rest assured that the management of this company is both competent and complicit in turning this company into the greatest success story they can; after all their own interests must reside in the future of this technology, else why are they here?
In the future and not long from now, people around the world will become conscious of POET and their IP.Student lectures on III-V material based photonics will become standard and people will reminisce about the poor state of antiquated silicon technology. These people, like us reflecting on the introduction of CDs or microwave ovens, will only remember the change occurring apparently overnight, and it will be up to us to remind them of how it felt to endure those many nights of hope, desire and patience necessary to create an overnight success.
GLTA and thanks to those doing the truly hard work, the POET management and team.
