In the case of POET under Ontario Corp law if the share consolidation takes places, they require that a Company change their name. It's easier to change the incorporated designation for POET rather than the front portion of POET's name. -Christopher Chu

Funny, in Canada they both mean the exact same thing. Corp. simply means you are a corporation. Inc. means you are incorporated (ie. you are a corporation)
