This is a big issue. I've been trying to find definitve answers on foreign assets in both RRSP's and TFSA's. Dividend bearing stocks are trouble...so not a worry for POET..yet.
However, any foreign stocks over 100,000 in value need to be declared, whether they are in TFSA's or not. Same with RRSP's. (Do we have an accountant in the house to tell us what this means?)
Not to mention, the exchange rate will change the amount of shares you will own once the conversion is made...abut yes I know, you'll still have the same VALUE of investment.
It just seems like a no-brainer to me, that there'd be a complimentary listing on the TSX. Because the value of stocks mirror each other on foreign exchanges, I don't know why they wouldn't just leave the Venture listing as is.
