Dr. Suresh Venkatesan is Vice President of Alliance Technology Development at GLOBALFOUNDRIES. He joined GLOBALFOUNDRIES in 2009 from Freescale Semiconductor, where he was Director, NVM technology and Foundry development, within the Microcontroller Solutions Group.
Suresh began his career at the Advanced Products Research and Development Laboratories of Motorola, where he was responsible for the definition, development and transfer of the HiP7 (130nm) technology platform. He then spent a year at Motorola’s subsidiary Thoughtbeam Inc., followed by a return to Motorola as Director for High Performance CMOS and NVM Technology development in 2003, where he was responsible for the development and deployment of advanced SOI technologies and embedded non-volatile memory consumer and automotive solutions. He then joined Freescale Semiconductor as Director of Technology Strategy and Program Management in the Technology Solutions Organization.
Suresh holds seventeen U.S. patents, and has co-authored over 35 technical papers. He received his bachelors of technology in Electrical Engineering (BTech, EE) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1987 and his masters of science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) and doctor of philosophy (PhD) degrees from Purdue University in 1988 and 1992, respectively.
