I think it is important to consider that POET's CEO was at this event to discuss the challenges and improvements in the industry in general, not to get free press time for POET. It would not be well received if all he discussed was POET, offered it as the only or best solution, and did not acknowledge any other technological advancements in the industry, which do exist. I think this was all just politically correct, and in line with the theme of the event, so not much to get into about this.
