Interesting interview with someone who has been around a while: http://www.sprottmoney.com/blog/ask-the-expert-fred-hickey-june-2015.html

He used to be a tech focussed investor who has turned to precious metals, but 3/4 of the way thru the interview, out of nowhere, someone asks him about PTK! (in reference to it being the biggest tech issue on the Venture.)

His response and POV is instructional, in my view. He, like many, have been aware of GaAs for 30 years, and simply asks the question, is it for real now? PTK doesn't have a product in the market yet...yada yada. But he knows they've been in "stealth mode," so I think he knows more than he lets on. Smedley acted the same way.

Sometimes the discussion on the board turns to "how can PTK still be so cheap?"

Well, if savvy old guys like Hickey and Smedley are ambivalent, it just tells you that institutional money hasn't been ready to jump in yet...but the $1.50 price already tells you that!

Anyway, I believe the primary difference between faith and doubt lays in the management issue. If I had to hang my hat on one thing that gives me the faith that this investment will work out beautifully, its the quality of the people involved. Most institutional asset managers don't have the time to rub the flesh enough to ever really know if management has the beef.

We know that Poet has the beef.

The DD and personal investment made by some members of this community over the past few years is extraordinary. The time, effort, and generosity in the spirit of mutually beneficial cooperation is, frankly, a bit weird. What I mean is, you don't see it too often, and on a day when we are all simply waiting for godot, its easy to forget we all had some help getting to this point. Here's to the crazy ones...

cheers,

J
