POET patents vs trade secrets

I know I'm going to jumped on for asking a question...haha.

I've been long on POET for over a year now, and I love reading all the great DD on this board. But there is still something that I'm not 100% clear on. Is the entire POET process comprised of the 43 patents that the company owns or are there unpatented trade secrets that are also part of POET?
