Hello POET followers,

I have been reading this forum for a year but this is my first post. Many thanks to all who contribute. I appreciate the wealth of information and opinions that you all provide. I am most interested in the optical advantages. I have read some on POET's ability to produce a chip with both electronic and optical as well as the on-chip lazers.

Can someone tell me more about these PIC's (photonic integrated circuits)? I have heard some mention of ring resonators, can I have a reference? I also read on tPOET's website about using cladding materials. Are there references beyond their description?
