Unlikely a co-chair would override a new CEO they have just hired even when such decisions are different and possibly better. Especially if the new CEO set certain preconditions when hired. While the new CEO may want to execute as stated by the former CEO's earlier statements if new insights and ideas are available that weren't at the time that PC made his statements the new CEO could well change them - which is probably what has occurred. The co-chairs and Board will be briefed and consulted by the new CEO.
