Indian Smartphone market grows at 45% ( Y o Y) to reach 25.8 million in Q2 2015

According to the latest report from our Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) service, India Smartphone Vendor and OS Market share: Q2 2015, the smartphone shipments in India grew by 45% ( Y o Y) to reach 25.8 million units in Q2 2015. Smartphone segment took up 36.5% of the overall handset market in the quarter.

Samsung, Micromax and INTEX in that order took up the top 3 positions in the smartphone and overall handset market in India for Q2 15. Other international vendors like Lenovo and Apple too witnessed positive momentum.

While Android continues to be the dominant OS, newer platforms like TIZEN have started to witness traction in the entry price tiers.
