don't quote me (the comparative exact-cost posts are around somewhere; maybe it's in the CIC video too), but POET per-die cost increase due to GaAs wafer is maybe a nickel, but final cost savings after assembly/packaging is about two-thirds.

the whole-fab cost savings are (technical term) craaazy stoopid big.
