This issue with the wafers made me think:

Monetarisation of POET can work in two ways.

1. POET can license their IP

2. But compared with most of the SI-technology POET has also a patented physical product: Their substrate, the InGaAs-Wafer! No POET chip without such a wafer. I guess A COO named Dr. Deshmukh with his roots in Applied Materials could have such an idea!
