Nice find M_80. In the current MD&A, they also added that the switching VSCEL was demonstrated for the first time. That was one of the original milestones.

However, no mention of the ring oscillator. Based on these points and what you pointed out, as well as reference to immediate commercialization in this week's NR, one could conclude the following:

  • The ring oscillator was meant to be a demonstration vehicle. It seems the technology no longer needs to be demonstrated to potential customers. It's ready to go,so why waste time demonstrating it, then negotiating, then signing. The company's emphasis is on immediate commercialization.
  • The VSCEL is the core IP needed for the first opto-electronic product being manufactured on the recently mentioned wafers

Seems the CEO is skipping the whole demo or "look at what we can do!" steps and going straight to market.
