suggest you take posts on "the other board" with a grain of salt.

and take the CV information at its face value.

as of the time period expressed in a paragraph of that document -- at some point in time earlier in the year -- yes 50 was achieved.

so, maybe 40 is complete in the current time.

or sure, maybe 40 is just impossible, despite that Taylor himself explaining in the article (pp.52 onwards) that there are no problems going to 10 or even 5nm. maybe he's just a big fat fibber.

or, maybe it is something like this:

"what? you really got 50? 50 is a hundred times better than what I have today. it's more than good enough for me to make a product to sell! when you go better than 50, I will sell upgrades and new models! start the production runs! do it!"

because we don't expect to hear an update the until the end of September, the status is pure speculation.

like Christmas, the thing under the tree can be whatever you want it to be, until you're allowed to open it and see what Santa has for you.
