I'll post this link before Eileen does. ;-)
Go read it and come back.
I'll wait.
OK.
Now, what did we learn?
Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco is booked for a “trade show” event from September 4th thru 10th.
SF Police along with private security are patrolling the perimeter of the building.
Speculation is an AAPL event, but if so, it’s a GIANT one.
BGCA holds 7,000 people - larger even than their annual WWDC event.
Seating in BGCA looks like this…
to give you an idea, other events at BGCA look like this (New Year’s Eve) ...
Booking is by “
Adams and Associates” which is known to be one of the dummy corps that fronts secrets when AAPL isn’t ready to out them.
(if you know your Book of Genesis, you’ll get the reference, and the joke)
both A&A (company) and BGCA (venue) were used to hide behind for the original Mac launch in ’84 *and* the unveiling of the original Apple 2 in 1977.
it’s now 38 years later.
I’m going to stick my neck out and say that there’s no run-of-the-mill "trade show”.
because what trade show shuts down sidewalks, keeps cops and private security on site (who are forbidden to speak to the media) and erects scaffolding at the entrances ...
... all for an event that supposedly takes place over a holiday weekend, has no promotion, yet wants to affix a massive logo outside the centre window of the one of the most famous and historic buildings in the city.
it’s FruitCo, and something big is going down.
GLAL,
R.
