No the trademark has not been approved, and my understanding is the same word or words can be used in trademarks aslong as they are not in the same area. (ie Someone could make a Nonstick frying pan out of a materials that spell POET) I know Poet Technologies had to list what markets their acronym applies to - they listed Smart appliances, smartphones ect.
