Message: Temper You Enthusiasm

It's good advice.

The nature of mega tech is secretive, strategic, and forces players into ambiguity. A frustrating situation for shareholders. As the saying goes... "You only get one chance at the first impression". Whether that's a mega-cap announcing a new product line, or a new management team introducing themselves and their operational roadmap.

My tempered enthusiasm comes from the fact that all questions can be vetted. They'll get dozens, if not hundreds of a similar nature, and they'll get a few they never expected. I'm not going to hold my breath for news-worthy, specific answers. On the other hand, by giving such advanced notice (more than a full month) they could be gathering us around to finally spill some beans.

What I found interesting was the timing of the CC...which is at market close. It does create the possibility that some specific information could be revealed, which might give us a positive Thursday morning. One thing is for certain; management will have many eyes and ears on them Wednesday. They wouldn't be giving such an advanced lead-up without having ANYTHING of substance to say.

I would highly doubt, that if a serious deal has been struck with a major partner, we would find out about it through a morning news-release. If you want mainstream news impact, you'd hold a conference.
