About two months ago I told the POET story to an older gentleman I work with occasionally when the subject of investing and business opportunities came up in conversation. He's a hands on, mechanically minded person and has had a small business or three in his years and is always on the lookout for the next opportunity.
He has no background in computers or electronics but was very interested in the story after I told the background and a brief history of the people involved. I left it at that and only saw him briefly a few times over the last few weeks.
Yesterday, I worked with him again. One of the first things he told me was his experience when he went to open his self-directed trading account with his bank. During the course of the discussion with the financial advisor who was helping him open his account, he mentioned his intention to buy some PTK stock. I'm not sure of the time frame between him mentioning it or if there were multiple visits but he said that after taking a look at POET she asked him if he minded if she looked a little more into the company and maybe buy a few shares for herself after she was done helping him purchase his shares. (just a courteous gesture or professional rules of conduct? I'm not sure. Anyone?)
This experience impressed on him that this company is going to attract a lot of attention.
