me and most of this forum will agree with your thoughts. I guess some have just the problem to devide PET from POET. And in fact, it is like deviding a pair of shoes. You can jump on one, but to run you will need both. And finally there will be not much efforts to make a POET out of a PET. (well, not talking about your dog).

Example: Memory. Without optics you can build an incredible useful PET-chip, smallest structures, simple , low cost, fast like hell, but keeping the info when switched totally off. Wow!!!
Will it be so difficult to add its full potential, the optics so the info can flow in and out with the speed of light?
Possibly not. Strategical it can be recommended to go first PET, then POET. But if needed, they can directly go to POET.
