We should all thank Mr. CC for his work. More importantly ground breaking and foundation setting service to the cause. Much as he was maligned on occasion (even by myself) he did a great job keeping things upright in view of several serious crisis that arose this year. A tough situation at the best of time, I want to apologize to him for some of my behaviour and wish him the best of the best in the future.
Chris, fabulous job in an uncertain time. As others have alluded to, maybe now you can particpate as an owner with us. Thank you for the steady hand !
So we now have a new glass company.
(analogy used by our industry to indicate a company setting up the shop window to entice buyers into the store)
This is a rather interesting development. Not totally unexpected, however earlier in the process than I fully expected. Not to flog a personal pony, but this is another signal of time lines being flexible. As FJ mentioned, under promise and over deliver. Add to that, one of the only ways to throw a dog off your scent, is to..........change your scent.
For those that saw the late 2016 for revenue revelation as a sore point. Its now a moot point. You don't hire a company such as this with its all inclusive SV client list, including and not limited to, the NASDAQ, if your not seeking a display window and enticement for the big boys to come "a runnin". Further to the bric a brac hodge podge promotion of the company, you won't gain much attention without a well thought out, and executed plan. Starting with a website revamp, I fully expect them to "professional up" the whole darn ship. Let me be clear here, this is not to say previous management did not have our best interests at heart. On the contrary, directional changes were most likely foisted upon them, and incoming management saw other opportunities and potentials to fat and to easy and took the other fork.
Significant in this new IR is not only the aforementioned technology client list, is the influence of the management team here. The yen to move upward in image and attitude and in no doubt preparation for (near ?) future substantial development(s) has this management teams fingerprints all over it. Another siginificant factor in my view, is the schedule "adjustment" for the lab movement from Storrs to SV. Is this part of the UP/OD game plan ? Or is it speaking other clues to us ? As I have stated before, timeline front running is common in our business, notwithstanding PTK's potential and the everpresent NDA, theres a real situation here that some fingers that control the marionette are not all of PTK's ownership. Therefore, what are we preparing for ? Magnitude 6 or something more earth shaking ?
Back to centralization of operations. Important clue for us in this undertaking ? Personal face time. If Oracle (a generic example) calls for a techinical, engineering, sales or legal meeting, it certainly can be done by phone, video, etc. However, there are many critical times and especially at high levels were face time (information security, the appropriate content, hacking concerns) is a must especially when a signature is required on say a deal or MOU, LOI, or contractual situation. You want to be where your customers or potential customers are. I have to do it, fly to HQ for reasons mentioned and others not, its a necessity. Then theres the all important "3 martini lunch".
Humour aside (or vain attempt therein), the moves are a master stroke, a necessity and a sensible admin requirement for the company. Maybe a gentle elbow in the ribs by some exchange people perhaps as well. There is a quite blatant show going here that is slowly demonstrating their intent to build a world class power house. We, are beyond fortunate here to not only get a ring side seat, more importantly to be participating in history and the construction of that power house. So before you go to visit the sad factory at the corner of regret and complacency, open your eyes to see whats unfolding in front of you. Take pride in your possession of shares, and the skilled mentors guiding them to future multiples.
On to that dreaded of all subjects....dot connecting.
Now I won't speculate for you here. You can do that in private, on your own and with no doubt some most interesting results. Within todays release, as with the Sept 30 CC and other releases, are several dots worth connecting, they may take some extrapolation, some mental acuity, possibly even some rule bending, but they are there. Another expedient brick or two garnering a hastening of completion, in our pathway to Panacea.
