I tend to agree the resources are better occupied elsewhere.

however, don't forget, there are others with interests in PTK that have deep pockets. in some cases, very deep pockets.

if I recall from the SEDAR filings, the partnership with BAE calls for them to help defend if PTK were attacked (a la NATO, perhaps)

also, it would be in UConn's best interests to defend -- academic institutions are rather protective of IP they're involved with.

if it came to a fight, I don't think Ajit would have to call Saul.
