To all,

By posting this article, I just wanted to show how much Silicon Photonics seems to be the next solution for datacenters.

However, the issue is that Si photonics are claiming to be the next big thing since 2012-2013.

But up to today, no company have ANNOUNCED that they are able to do what POET does, i.e. integrate all the necessary components for a receiver on the same chip.

Laser (as I understand it and from what I've red) is the main issue with Si photonics and have not been solved.

Silicon is just not suited for light

POET is !
