FC,

Is the ability to lase "in-plane" and "out of plane" unique to POET's VSCELS?

You lost me when you talked about "to bond the optical interface directly to silicon". I thought the idea was to avoid silicon.

Do we have any idea what size would be attractive? The recently published POEM chip had "850 photonic components" vs 70 million transistors, Their chip is only 3mm by 6 mm (I believe, from memory).

Focussing on a optical interconnect chip for the moment, does anyone know how many and how small the photonic components need to be?

Rick
