In the CC the board advised that they are in advanced discussions with an institution.
It was reported last year that Stanford had developed breakthroughs that would greatly reduce the cost associated with producing GaAs based chips. Seems like a process that POET would greatly benefit from.

As well, as reported in an article from the UK yesterday allegedly Apple's VR branch has some association with Stanford.
