Thanks Abel for that interesting reference.

For me the stand out comment was:

'However, there is still one final step, where the rubber meets the road, where our signal-of-interest has not yet been digitized, that we require analog transistors of extraordinary quality to accurately and precisely measure whatever information it is that we are about to transport into our digital domain.

From <http://www.eejournal.com/archives/articles/20160223-mosfets/>

This provoked some thought.

Listening recently to a BBC Radio 4 debate on how technology will affect our world, it was clear to me that we are approaching a period in the development of IC that could launch a new industrial revolution, where the ability to measure precisely signals that are analog in nature and then digitally communicate them to control systems, will lead to revolutionary changes in our lives. The internet of things, driverless cars, health monitoring at many levels are but a few of the practical potential applications that we are aware of, let alone the popular gee whizz gaming, virtual and must have comms devices that now inhabit our lives.

One wonders how a Taylor monolithically integrated chip will contribute to such a revolution when POET is in pole position to do so.

It was the magical potential of POET technology that attracted me to OPEL many moons ago and then lead me to break all the conventional investment rules to invest heavily in a high risk venture capital firm which became Poet Technology Inc.

The company's progress over four years to de-risk this adventure to the point where there is now a real prospect to produce a commercially viable products has seemed tortuous, with many false summits in the ascent, but there is now a real sense that we are at the 'end of the beginning' to quote Winston Churchill.

The recruitment of the qualified and able management is key to this recent progress but lets never forget the amazing contribution of Dr Geaofrey Taylor, which is why it amazes me that anyone should bleat about his need to sell a small proportion of his shares, for what ever reason.
