Suresh Venkatesan

Dr. Suresh Venkatesan has been Chief Executive Officer of POET Technologies Inc. since June 2015. Dr. Venkatesan is an industry veteran with over 22 years of experience in semiconductor technology development. Dr. Venkatesan served as Senior Vice President of Technology Development at GLOBALFOUNDRIES U.S. Inc. and GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc. Dr. Venkatesan focused on technology operational excellence, accelerating development and execution of key technology milestones, and ... achieving customer satisfaction through technology delivery. Prior to joining GLOBALFOUNDRIES in 2009, he held various leadership positions with Freescale Semiconductor in Austin, Texas, including High Performance CMOS and NVM Technology development, Technology Strategy and Program Management, and Silicon Technology Solutions. He was responsible for GLOBALFOUNDRIES's Technology Research and Development. Dr. Venkatesan began his career with Motorola, Inc. and served in roles of increasing responsibility including Engineering Manager of CMOS Platform Development and Engineering Director for Thoughtbeam, Inc. He has been a Director of POET Technologies Inc. since June 12, 2015. Dr. Venkatesan holds over twenty US patents and co-authored over 40 technical papers. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and PhD degrees from Purdue University.
