Message: Detector metrics

The results coming out of Wavetek for Poet at 20x better responsivity (13A/W) and 3x smaller (10 mm aperture size) are quite impressive. Here's an example of a current market detector product made on GaAs:

Now look at the Data Sheet metrics for the 30mm aperture size (direct link below) for GaAs PIN Photodiodes - Wavelength: 850nm

So we can see that Poet's metrics for PiN diodes are indeed 3x smaller (at 10mm aperture size) and the 20x higher comes from I believe the typical responsivity of .53A/W (x20 is about 11 A/W)

If that isn't disruptive I don't know what is. And this is now commercially producible too. I wonder if these results are what a potential customer was waiting for in this NRE reference from the Feb. 16 NR:

"Poet has received specific interest in applications from prospective customers and is in advanced discussions to license, for non-recurring engineering fees, and transfer its proprietary integrated planar opto-electronic technology. Included in the talks is the proposed establishment of a platform for the development of integrated sensing applications."
