Rickface I think you are confusing some of the terms here. Tuning is related to wavelength and maintaining tight control on spectral response. The POET VCSEL wavelength is set by QD particle size.

Yes, I am sure there are a lot of terms I am confusing. That's why I am asking. For example, your statement above raises more questions:

1. I do understand how QD particle size will set wavelength but I haven't seen much reference to POET QD details. I am having trouble finding that patent that you referenced from July 2015, is it in the link library?

2. Are the QD's an integral part of POET VCSEL's? Honestly, I was mistaken in thinking the wavelength was dictated by dimensional parameters.

3. Is temperature variation a significant variable?
