The focus of this product seems to be long-reach communications. There was no mention in the video of SR and VSR markets, which is Poet's focus.

Also, the stated purpose of Infinera's offering is to provide a new approach to SDN at the hardware level, to allow for dyanmic bandwidth availability sourced from large scale fiber optic bandwidth inputs.

So my understanding is that it's not competing in the space as Poet's AOC.

And it's a very good point that Poet's new Director Product Development Juthika Basan joined from Infinera
