I called IIROC, as it seems some other PTK shareholders have. They were friendly and informative, and very much aware of the Poet situation. Asked specifically if this is unusual to have a halt go this long. It seems it does happen, but it is not the norm. IIROC seems to like things getting started again in less than three days - and said they are monitoring the Poet scenario.

Also seems the length of time for a halt has little to do with the magnitude of the announcement and more to do with ensuring what is released after the halt is accurate. IIROC must review and approve the release, and will ask for changes or correctons to be made. This can elongate the timeframe for a start to trading.
