I contend that the company organized this acquisition based on current resources, and I think the structure of the deal suggests likewise.

I accept your explanation and tend to agree there are many waiting in the wings for the show to begin; the curtain has yet to rise though.

As for PET, it remains an enigma; how or when we see its' re-emergence is unknown. I do like the Apple link, and certainly TB hasn't been sitting around drinking coffee for the last 2 years, but thus far there is nothing to specifically tie the two together.
