I am of the view that POET wouldn't publish these sort of figures on their website, unless they were pretty certain of their validity.

To be fair, it should be an easy questions for them to answer:

Adjit - "Hey Tony B, pick a typical Apple data centre and let us know the specs on power consumption".

Tony "sure Adjit, just keep the data generalised on the website so no-one guesses we're thinking of using your tech to save millions".

Not sure if previously posted, but this link to Apple's new data centre in Ireland has some pretty incredible stats.

http://uk.businessinsider.com/apple-data-centre-could-increase-irelands-electricity-consumption-by-82-2016-4

Apple's new Irish data centre could increase electricity consumption in Ireland by 8.2%,

"Because data centres must operate continuously (8,760 hours per year), Apple's annual electrical energy usage is estimated to be 262.8 gigawatt hours (GWh) for the proposed development of one data hall, and 2,102 GWh for the full build out of eight data halls. In comparison, the entire Republic of Ireland consumed 25, 780 GWh in 2014."

Sorry about the formatting.
