Message: Re: DAC versus AOC return on investment

Several months ago, I e-mailed Poet (Robert Ferri), twice actually, not having a reply the first time, as I too could not make sense of the math. I asked them to confirm those figures. R.F. said "The team has been traveling, and as soon as they respond, I will relay. I can assure you that I have made them aware of your question. Also, please don't hesitate to let me know if you'd like to talk." That reply was June 8th. I checked the web site periodically, and found no change or correction to the $50 mil. savings figure.

In my original e-mail, I stated that I thought the savings was over stated by perhaps a factor of 10. Maybe more, depending on cost of electricity. As I haven't heard any more, I just let it ride, until you pointed out your problems with the math. I don't doubt there will be a substantial savings, but $50 million per year -- half billion dollars in ten years per data centre? It deserves confirmation.
