About every 3 months I go back and read the 'highest ranking' posts on the Poet Forum. Rainer's post 'Surprised by Performance' from early April 2016, referencing his phone call with Robert and Subhash is a very good one to revisit and refocus on what is coming at the end of Q2.

..."VCSEL and transistor wafers have also been processed in the fab, meaning the Q1 targets have been met. The last technological hurdle has been taken. POET characterized the detectors first. Characterization of VCSELs and transistors is still ongoing. Subhash said he hasn't the data yet, so he could not say anything about their properties – could take three weeks or so.

He made clear that "the VCSEL is working" would be a non-message, not being worth a news release. However, anoptimized functional VCSEL or a functional integrated VCSEL transceiver with superior properties – that would be another story. That's what the team will focus on over the next months."

I believe there are good things to come.
