Message: A Rough Ride

It was aways going to be a rough ride.

It's understandable for some to vent their fraustrations in a forum such as this, but it is rather repetative and contributes nothing to the purpose of the board. Nor for that matter does me repeating that success in investing comes from taking the long view, but that's what the Buffets of this world say and they have made fortunes from taking that view. So let's think about it.

My conclusion remains that all the indicators for success are contained in the PTK offering and substantial progress has been made in this financial year, which will be part of the AGM message no doubt.

I'd rather people resist the depressing mantra of focussing on the temporary state of the SP and take stock of the factors that really are of consquence, given that SP is volatile and emotionally driven whereas the progress the company is about to report is hard discernable facts.

Those who feel management should do something to boost SP have not to my knowledge offered a method of doing so that would not deviate management from focusing on building the essential elements for success for this company and I see no point in artificial manipulations that may bring but temporary relief for the impatient.

The company has just altered their website with a much enhanced presentation which says what they are about to roll out. It's time for the doubters and disenters to start believing this and adjust the timescale of their expectations of SP growth to the practicalities of manufacturing, promoting and selling the promised products to customers to provide tangible income streams that will move the SP.

Desist from the futile mental exercise of 'if only' and accept that you invested in the rough ride of a venture capital firm. If you take your shinny new Land Rover off road it's going to get dirty and take a few dents. But by buying into a class off roader it will get you to where you want to go.

PS: my 283 mile delivery journey down St George's Channel and across the Western approaches to Fowey Cornwall was a bumpy ride ending with the Fowey lifeboat standing by for the last 5 miles to escorts us when our main steering failed. We made it and so will POET.
