All the chips are tested at the wafer level( POET's claim to fame, remember guys?), ie: they test "2000" chips at a time. ... "Wafer breakage occures majorily from damage at specific tool levels, including micro scratches, thermal stresses and vibration"*. *all this info is on Goolge.com
