Message: Silence = ?

Hello All,

I think its common knowledge how the 'market' in general, reacts to silence, especially when a company has created a specific expectation for an update.

I have no real insight as to what the current silence means here, but the following is my interpretation.

I don't think a significant technical speed bump has been encountered; and I suspect this is the unspoken fear for the market.

If such was the case, my feeling is that management would want to:

A) meet the 'timetable for an update' based on expectations they created

and..

B) put the 'best face' possible on what this delay means to the company's future success.

So in this scenario, I believe we would have already seen a notification for the anticipated update.

Conversely, if POET is very close to completion of either a major milestone (or something else ?).. they might be inclined to stall a bit on providing an update so that this new accomplishment can be incorporated into the update.

Additionally, if there was a significant technical speedbump encountered, this management staff is too intelligent not to know they would need to get 'out front' in terms of managing market perception.

So based on the above assumptions, I don't perceive there is anything significantly wrong here. This management team is profoundly competent for the task they have undertaken. My sense is that they are 'close enough' to a significant accomplishment to justify a small delay in providing the promised update. If we get into November and still silence, I will still maintain my stance, but I can't deny my blood pressure will increase.

I only post here once or twice a year, as I have little to contribute.. but as always, I want to express my thanks to the hub leaders and many others who contribute great insight.

I expect this investment to 'make' my retirement, and my only point here is that the current 'quiet period' in no way has changed that perception.

Best of luck to all.
