Message: Initial THoughts on Customer Presentation re AOC

Dear fellow POETEERS who have remained Calm as advised,

This extract from page 12 of the investors new presentation looks like we have a home run on the long awaited VCSEL integration. I would say this statement clearly says its done. Bravo PTI!!!

The date of Active Optical Cable shown in slide #23 shows the AOC within verticals as a future data centre vertical in 2018+. Why this should this be interpreted as a delay when a previous slide (#12) indicated the full integration necessary is complete, I put down to an innate desire amongst those born with gloomy outlooks to see every thing in the blackest terms. Not so for me an arch Pom Pom of course. I see it differently and I hope more logically and without fear.

Our CEO, who I assume has now completed his grand tour of the customer base, will have in my view come to some conclusions as a result. One being that 2018 is the optimum time to introduce the AOC which is why slide 23 shows this, he is being realistic. Why might this be?, you may well ask, but sales of products are a customer led activity and as the AOC is a totally new disruptive product, would it not be logical that customers need time to reorganise their plans to implement such an innovative, ground breaking technology and to change their long existing and deeply considered development plans by immediately diving into a new product as it emerged. Let alone calculating the opportunity costs of shorting the expected life of their current communications technology.

We are approaching and inflection point where a new option has appeared to confound previous planning and shortly with the todays news many companies will hopefully be considering how they might adopt the POET AOC at the earliest opportunity. Think about it . The CEO has structured his plans to implement what is immediately acceptable form the DenseLight enhanced product portfolio, the low hanging fruit shall we say, whilst the pineapple product is marketed and implementation proceeds. This lady need time gentlemen.

Those who think that the announcement of a fully integrated AOC would result in the immediate build of sales, or have not factored in the time it take companies to plan and implement are not being realistic. Those who have worked on major projects IT projects will know that such change albeit vital for future competitivenness will inevitable take time and given today is P day It may well be that our CEO conclusion on return from his customer tour is that orders for the product build from now on but based on customer needs 2018 is the sweet point for implementing POET AOC whist DenseLight initially carries the lead for PTI revenue build up.
