No matter how clear the call is, there are so many fertile minds at work here, that afterwards, confusion will reign, mainly of our own doing.

I'm thinking this is the message:

"The big money-making stuff doesn't work yet (dang it's hard to change the world); concentrated efforts ongoing and still confident we will get it to work, need more money."

Ever get a call like that from anyone? Kids from college, maybe? Older kids, maybe?
