Aiming to become the global leader in chip-scale photonic solutions by deploying Optical Interposer technology to enable the seamless integration of electronics and photonics for a broad range of vertical market applications

Yes, I completely agree, Rainer.
I am also sure that - if there is a project at Apple, they will not limit their work on the pure non-optical part of POET.

Whatever they will develope, they most probably will also use the optical sides of POET. E.g. a cell phone CPU will use the optical clock.

My simple theory:

1. I assume that: POET management is not lying, the patents of GT are genuine.

2. Apple knows (from PC) about POET, then AM explained them in detail that this technology is of interest, a game changer.

3. Apple urgently needs somethig fundamentally new to defend their status as a technology leader.

So I see two possibilties what happened:

A: Apple asked for proof, POET could not deliver (yet), so since nearly two years they are waiting for this proof to start common developements. TB in the TRAB to keep contact and to be updated on results.

B: Apple asked for proof, POET did deliver (not a mass produced prototype, just RO and the VCSEL...). Since this time secrete developement work inside Apple, possibly with SG as consultant, but for secrecy completely separated from the POET activities. Again TB in the TRAB to keep contact and to be updated on results.

So for me all this is condensing to a simple question: Would Apple wait months and years for POETs small team of specialists with their limited resources and nagging problems with epi-wafers and export licensing?
