Sure it's possible, but why, I must ask, would they not have taken over already if that was their master plan?

No, I think Apple taking over POET is not an option at this time since it would've already happened if it were.

Apple doesn't play with ANYONE without NDA's in place, and presumably within those NDA's there is protection for BOTH parties, not just the mighty fruit company.
