Description

The candidate will take the lead in driving technical and quality issues related to VCSEL or photonic devices during ramp up and through out product lifetime. They will work with VCSEL or photonic devices vendors and downstream module integrators. The scope covers all VCSEL or photonic devices used in all module and all systems. This role will mainly work across multiple location in various continents with visits many countries. The majority of time will be spent on vendor sites. Responsibilities: - Resolve quality issues in VCSEL or photonic devices fab, back-end processing, transit and Module integrator. - Monitor and report yield, manufacturing metrics (CpK, FMEA etc.). Drive improvement programs as appropriate. - Drive FACA for VCSEL or photonic devices related returns from integrators, field returns, and EFFA issues. Track, report and close out issues in a timely manner. - Ensure 8D reports and PCNs are maintained correctly - Assist in timely test correlation activities and identify test gaps between sensor, camera module and system. - Maintain a good relationship with Module integrators and regularly track their in VCSEL or photonic devices issues and yield loss. Assist and arbitrate as needed. - Review and approve VCSEL or photonic devices manufacturing Quality Control Plans ( tests, methods, sample sizes, pass /fail criteria ). Ensure cosmetic standards are aligned with Module integrator. - Audit and approve VCSEL or photonic devices manufacturers for Mass Production readiness. - Ensure VCSEL or photonic devices vendors are conforming to Apple ERS specs and requirements. - Manage the quality relationship with the VCSEL or photonic devices factories. This involves regular face to face reviews, efficient vendor reporting systems and audits. - Ensure qualification and reliability activities at vendors are in line with requirements. - Routine status reporting to executives and issue escalation when needed. Interface with other groups: - Strong contact with vendor factory teams. - Interface with internal module SQE’s at module integrators. - Close coordination with VCSEL or photonic devices design team and and VCSEL or photonic devices NPI project managers.

Education

- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or allied technical subject. - 3 years relevant experience in Product Engineering, Process Engineering and/or Quality Engineering

Additional Requirements

- Good working knowledge of VCSEL or photonic devices and associated module components is preferred, but a deep semiconductor and III-V GaAs processes background is mandatory. - In-depth understanding of wafer test, yield, wafer fab processes, wafer packaging, back-end issues. - Familiarity with quality systems and control
