With regards to the VCSEL and any other develpments, discoveries whatever in that department I'm sure material change will be announced when they see their own time to do so. I guess they can hide it forever if they want.  We have no idea how far along they are(or not) and absolutely no way for us and the rest of the public to know until they're ready. Personally I don't want them to divulge anything until they say "we're going int production"...that's what i'm waiting to hear. when it comes or whether it comes time will tell and patience will then be rewarded I think.
