In my view the abstract is positive although it is phrased in a quite reluctant way (on purpose, I believe):

  • "Advances in integration technology in different material platforms over the last 10 years have enabled reduced cost, higher functionality and smaller components."
    • Well, yes, that's a truism.
  • "Poet Technologies is developing several integrated platforms within the company to enable reduced power consumption and integrated low cost components."
    • Yes, everyone wants that! This sounds interesting indeed, but in the context of PIC (the conference, not the circuit :-)) and the other speakers it does not stand out in any particular way.
    • POET shareholders should prick up their ears when reading "several integrated platforms".
  • "An overview of the core technology and advantage for commercial product will be presented including recent advances in the development of its unique photonic integrated approaches to the datacenter market."
    • Many claim to follow "photonic integrated approaches" and the term isn't protected. Of course we here do know in what way POET's approach is "unique", and we are looking forward to the presentation of "recent advances". Using this term, Suresh hopefully not only means the integration of detector and HFET transistors, but also the VCSEL.
  • "In addition, the company will present results on using dielectric waveguides to reduce the complexity of packaging and enable lower component cost and increased functionality.

In case Suresh is going to speak about or even show things that are new and not yet publically known, I would assume a news release will preceed his presentation.
