Since the disastrous Public Offering last October, one which was far from fully subscribed, I have been concerned with the viability of the Company. It seemed clear to me that there were problems with the VCSEL, and equally clear to me that attention and money had shifted to Singapore. Subsequently, with all the new hires, and announcements out of DenseLight, it increased my worries about finances, and what the remedy would be if Poet runs out of money before income from D/L products were sufficient to remain solvent.
The discussion surrounding possible replacement of Suresh if there is no news regarding the VCSEL is in my opinion misplaced. The VCSEL is important, but even more important is the question of finances. The quest for development of the VCSEL could go on for years. However, if another Public Offering is necessary, that, I believe would be the final straw for the present management including Suresh. And the final straw for long term shareholders.
