Message: Poets future: Politics or pragmatism

I really wonder...

Now, after the PIC I as a not anymore layman would see kind of proof points that POET works, VCSEL, detector and logic on one chip, mass producable.

But still it seems all potential customers do "wait and see".

POET's policy seems to act very carefully. Many of the DL/BB products are interesting for the big players, on the other hand POET (the technology) could be in the near future - the biggest threat to these established companies. So who moves first?

My estimation: All the big, established companies (SIP...) will play politics. Even worse, they could try to kill POET (if you do not want to be my friend (exclusively), I will do nasty things (like 2/6?).

But there are others. From my persoal experiances I know that there always will be small and flexible companies (like LuxMux), but I am sure there are also some pragmatic companies seeng their chance in this market (the ones planning to eat lunch). So I would not wonder if we will see a partnership with a (still) nobody from Asia, even from China, with deep pockets and a mentality to risk to move first.
