Maybe I don´t understand this important sentence correct:

...successfully demonstrating the functionality of our Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) for the integrated GaAs opto-electronic platform.

Does this definitely mean "functionality of an already integrated Laser" or could it mean "functionality of a Laser that shall be integrated"?
