If your opinion is that POET products were not chosen because they are not up to it, I would say not according to Luxmux who are excited about their new relationship with PTI

My opinion is that if Apple did not chose the POET detector then they have got serious competition from the low cost implications of a POET integrated product from whoever produces it.

As a type two diabetic low cost would influence my decision to buy a monitor as it would millions of others with the same condition.
